I Bought, I Tried, I Loved: June 2025

Happy summer everyone! ❤︎

Some long outstanding projects are finally being done in my house this week (wallpaper, light fixtures, cabinets, oh my!) and I could not be happier about it. I’ve had some of them rattling around my little idea bin since we moved in 2 years ago, so to be able to see them come to life is literally just what I need right now. I feel like I’m slowly but surely crawling out of my little mental health crisis that I fell into a few months ago. Who knew it would just take a good dose of summer sunshine – and Lexapro, of course.

Let’s chat about some of my favorite things I picked up last month!

wall rack for the lenox spice village.

When Lenox dropped the re-release for the iconic Spice Village last year, I was ecstatic. Instant purchase, impatiently waiting for my delivery date like 6 months later to arrive, checking the tracking until it arrived, and then… I haven’t even opened the box it came in. I had nowhere to put them, so I had very little interest in opening the box without being able to immediately put them on display. So I’ve somewhat more patiently waited for both the right space in my home to reveal itself and the right display case or shelf or whatever it may be to come into my life along with it. And that day has finally come! I found this gorgeous handmade wall-mounted spice rack with rails that perfectly fits the full Spice Village collection. They are made to order, so the lead time is a bit long, but the seller is so communicative and kind to make up for it. I got the white wash, 4 shelf, added hooks version – so excited for it to arrive so I can finally show off the Spice Village in all her glory.

waterproof storage bins.

A niche need for sure, but these are the most affordable, good quality waterproof storage bins I’ve been able to find after a few years of looking. I have some outdoor storage areas in my backyard, but between the weather and little creepy crawlies, I’ve always been hesitant to really store anything in them. I knew weather/waterproof bins were the solution, with the rubber gasket around the edges to really seal the bins closed, but most I found were a bit too expensive. When I saw these more affordable ones drop recently, I literally could not have added to cart faster. They seal great, stack nice, and fit a lot of stuff. What more could you want out of a storage bin?

the ordinary glycolic acid.

This isn’t a recent find, per se, but it’s recently been re-added into my daily routine so it made the list for June! If you are a sweaty girlie like moi or if you just like smelling great all of the time, I cannot possible recommend introducing glycolic acid into your daily routine. I don’t know what magic or science is behind it all, but swiping some under my little pitties in the morning keeps me from having even a whiff of dreaded sweat B.O. I know some girlies use it solo and swear they don’t need deodorant, but I usually still give myself a swipe of my favorite smelling deodorant anyway for a little double duty action.

eloise dupe light fixture.

I have lusted after these Eloise pendant lights for I don’t even know how long at this point. I knew a pair of them would be so perfect in my entryway, but the price tag made me close the tab every time I looked at them. So when I tell you, when I was looking for pendant lights for an entirely different project and this dupe of my beloved Eloise light came up in my search, I about screamed. $100? For a damn near identical looking fixture? Sold, take my credit card immediately. I had them installed last week (because anything involving electricity is not a DIY I want to partake in lol) and they are gorgeous. I’m insanely picky about dupes – they have to be really good to impress me, and I am indeed impressed.

For full transparency, while I do fully love and adore them, they are not a perfect dupe:

  • They are smaller than the regular Eloise pendant light, but bigger than the petite Eloise pendant light. The size worked perfectly for my space, but definitely something to look at if you are looking for an exact dupe.
  • The hole in the milk glass shade will not fit over regular light bulb head. The actual light bulb fitting is for a regular E26 bulb, but you need a skinnier bulb to fit the shade over. It does come with a bulb that fits great, but I was hoping to use smart bulbs in mine which proved to be a bit tricky. My workaround was to use a candelabra bulb which is more narrow and connect with an E12 to E26 adapter.
  • The metal detailing is definitely where you can see the price difference when looking at it close up, but in all honesty, once they are installed they are up on the ceiling and far enough away that to me, I truly cannot tell the difference.

cat attack odor eliminator.

I love my cat. I love my cat like she is my child. Strike that, she is my child. She is however, also a big ol’ baddie brat when she wants to be and her weapon of choice to get back at us for whatever transgression we may have committed in her mind? Pee. I am not even kidding. We call this evil alter-ego of hers Pisserella (like Cinderella… but pissy). And after replacing my kitchen rug around which my entire kitchen decor color palette is based 3, yes THREE, times due to Pisserella’s evil ways, I decided to seek help… on TikTok, of course. I didn’t have high hopes for this cat attack odor eliminator concentrate that I was instantly barraged with TikTok Shop ads for, but I went all in because I was desperate. With the thought in my mind that it couldn’t really get more ruined than it already was, I dragged my rug outside, doused it in this stuff, and let it dry in the sun. And lo and freaking behold, the smell was gone. Literally not a trace. I stuck my nose INTO the tufts I knew she had peed on the most and… nothing. This is literally the secret weapon in the battle against cat pee.
